We repair and replace Bryant ductwork throughout Riverside, with most repairs running between $150 and $650 installed, depending on how much of the duct run is damaged and how accessible it is. Most Bryant ductwork problems come down to three things: failing tape at the joints, crushed flex sections, or tears animals have made in unconditioned spaces. You’ll usually notice a room that won’t hold temperature, a sudden jump in your electric bill, or dust collecting on surfaces faster than it should before you ever see the duct itself.
Ductwork in Riverside gets a harder workout than most people realize. The temperature swings between summer afternoons and desert nights put constant expansion stress on joints and tape, and the dry air pulls moisture out of old mastic until it cracks and separates. When Luis Serrano walks a Riverside attic, he’s looking for exactly those separations first, because a Bryant system moving air through leaking ducts is working twice as hard to cool half as well. So when we talk about ductwork repair, the conversation usually starts with airflow, not the equipment itself.
Which Bryant Models This Applies To
Any Bryant system in Riverside that moves conditioned air through ductwork can need this repair, but the details change by series. The Evolution series and Preferred series systems often run slightly higher static pressures, which means a small duct leak bleeds more air faster than on a basic Legacy unit. If you have an Evolution Extreme or a Preferred 127 series air handler, we check the plenum connections and the flex runs nearest the supply side first, because that’s where the pressure finds the weak point. The air handler or furnace model number is on a label inside the cabinet door, and the outdoor unit tag is on the corner of the condenser. Having either one lets us match duct sizing to the actual blower output instead of guessing at it.
One gotcha we see in older Riverside homes: the original builder ductwork was sized for a much smaller system. When a previous owner upgraded to a newer Bryant unit, the bigger blower moving more air through undersized ducts made the joints fail faster. That’s not a Bryant defect. It’s a mismatch issue, and it’s fixable with properly sized transitions and sealed connections. We carry OEM Bryant-matched duct fittings where they matter, and we use equivalent aftermarket flex and mastic where the OEM markup doesn’t buy you anything. The tape, mastic, and connectors are industry-standard. What matters is that they’re installed by someone who knows how much air your specific Bryant model is trying to push.
Styles & brands we work with

Signs Your Bryant Ductwork Repair Is Failing
- A room that’s always 5 to 8 degrees off. When a duct run separates in an attic or crawlspace, that conditioned air dumps into the unconditioned space instead of the bedroom. The zone just stops keeping up, even when the rest of the house feels fine.
- Dust building up fast on flat surfaces. A return-side leak pulls attic air, insulation fibers, and dust into the blower and distributes it through the supply registers. If you’re dusting the dresser twice as often, the duct is pulling from somewhere it shouldn’t.
- Whistling or fluttering around the registers. A loose joint or torn flex creates pressure noise that changes as the blower ramps up and down. On variable-speed Bryant systems, you hear it most during the lower stages when backpressure gets weird.
- A musty or stale smell when the fan kicks on. That’s return-side air being pulled from a crawlspace or wall cavity, and it won’t get better until the duct is sealed back to the intake plenum. It also puts that air into your living spaces, which no one in Riverside wants in July.
- Your August electric bill spiked with no other explanation. When supply air is dumping into the attic, the system runs longer to hit the thermostat. Riverside’s summer rates make a 15 percent duct leak a very expensive problem by September.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
Most ductwork repairs in Riverside come in between $150 and $650 installed. The low end covers finding and resealing one separated joint or patching a single small tear. The high end includes replacing a full damaged flex run, adding proper support straps, sealing every connection with mastic, and testing airflow before we pack up. What drives the number is how much of the run is compromised, whether we can reach it from an attic access or need to work around stored belongings, and whether the duct is insulated metal pipe or flex. We don’t sell repair without knowing what the repair will cost, because the Cedarwell Care Promise requires a written price before any work starts, on every visit, every time. Every duct repair we do is covered by the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If the seal fails or the airflow doesn’t hold, we make it right without a lecture about “normal wear.”
When we’re in a Riverside attic, we’re also protecting what’s below it. Shoe covers go on before we walk the carpet, drop cloths cover the floor under the attic access, and a photo of the clean-up goes to your phone before the crew leaves. If there are kids napping or a dog that gets anxious with strangers in the house, tell us. We work around the family’s schedule, not against it.
DIY or Call Us?
There’s one thing you can safely check on your own, and one thing you should not touch. The safe check: in the evening, walk the house and feel the air at each register. Bedrooms blowing weak while the living room is strong tells you there’s a supply-side leak somewhere between the plenum and that room. That’s diagnostic information, and it helps us narrow the search before we even open the attic access. What you shouldn’t do is climb into a Riverside attic in summer to patch ductwork yourself. Attics here hit 130 degrees or more in July, and duct repair on a Bryant system means working under insulation, around electrical wiring, and often in tight spaces where a misstep puts a knee through the ceiling drywall. We’ve also seen DIY tape repairs fail within a season because the wrong tape was used on a hot flex run. If you’ve found the problem, call us at (707) 340-6380 and we’ll take it from there. Tell me what’s happening inside the house, and we’ll figure out the rest.
FAQs
Properly sealed and supported ductwork in a Riverside attic can last 20 to 25 years, but the taped joints and connections usually need attention before the duct itself fails. The dry heat ages the adhesive on tape faster than the flex material, so expect more seal repairs over the life of the system than full duct replacements. If your home is older and the ductwork is original, the bigger factor is whether it was sized for the current Bryant equipment.
Most duct problems in Riverside are repairable. Taped joints can be re-sealed with mastic, small tears can be patched, and crushed sections can be replaced without redoing the whole run. We replace full sections when the damage is extensive, the duct has collapsed from age, or the material is so brittle it tears again while we’re working on it. Call (707) 340-6380 and we’ll tell you which situation you have before any work starts.
A single joint reseal or small patch typically takes one to two hours including setup and clean-up. A full flex run replacement can take half a day, depending on attic access and how much maneuvering is required in the space. We tell you the expected time window before we start, and we include the clean-up photo before the crew leaves.
Yes. Our trucks carry common flex duct sizes, mastic, foil tape, hangers, connectors, and plenum fittings compatible with Bryant systems, along with the same materials for Carrier, Trane, and Lennox equipment. For unusual sizes or custom transitions, we order from our Riverside supplier and typically install within a day or two. Call (707) 340-6380 for a free estimate on your specific repair.
